Main Objectives
Objectives of SARTHI Institute
Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI), Pune As approved by the Registrar of Companies, the principal objectives for which the Company is established are as follows:
- To undertake comprehensive studies on all matters pertaining to the social, educational, and economic development of the Maratha, Kunbi, and Kunbi-Maratha individuals/families (hereinafter referred to as the “Target Group”), and to submit recommendations thereon to the Government. To develop and establish SARTHI as a premier national-level institute of research, training, and human development in India, and to initiate, implement, and conduct various research, training, human development, and allied programs for the advancement of the Target Group in social, educational, and economic spheres.
- To undertake and carry out surveys, research, action research, and evaluations for the purpose of improving the social, educational, and economic conditions of the Target Group. To establish, develop, maintain, and operate skill development training programs, capacity-building initiatives, databanks, libraries, knowledge repositories, study circles, coordination forums, and academic institutions, including training and educational centers in diverse sectors such as agriculture, cooperation, employment, self-employment, entrepreneurship, and industry. To set up and operate guidance and counseling centers for students, entrepreneurs, farmers, and women, and to institute, grant, and disburse scholarships, fellowships, stipends, remunerations, and awards.
- To promote and safeguard constitutional rights and duties of citizens, and to foster national integration and scientific temper. To encourage peace, communal harmony, religious amity, and fraternity. To strive for equality and social justice and to work for the eradication of gender discrimination, caste-based discrimination, racial discrimination, and superstitions. To create awareness with respect to hygiene and healthcare. To promote inter-caste marriages, mass/community marriages, simple marriages, de-addiction measures, and women’s empowerment. To oppose and eradicate practices such as dowry, caste panchayats, social boycotts, and domestic violence, through action research, programs, and initiatives. Further, to organize and implement awareness campaigns and educational programs in the aforesaid areas with the aid and support of various mass media.
Supplementary Objects of the Company The objects incidental or ancillary to the attainment of the main objects of the Company shall be:
- To raise, solicit, and invite funds, submit proposals, and accept all forms of lawful financial assistance, including donations, legacies, bequests, endowments, and grants from trusts, societies, State and Central Governments, public sector undertakings, institutions, governmental and semi-governmental bodies, or individuals, for the attainment of the Company’s objects, and to utilize the same in furtherance thereof.
- To frame rules, regulations, and codes of discipline for the conduct of the affairs of the Company, and to make, rescind, amend, or vary the same from time to time as may be deemed expedient.
- To establish, develop, and manage a model national-level institute for the development of the Target Groups.
- To undertake, formulate, and implement plans, schemes, programmes, and activities, either independently or in collaboration with, through, or with the assistance and encouragement of other institutions, companies, governmental or semi-governmental organizations, private sector organizations, agencies, youth groups, self-employment collectives, or entrepreneurs, as approved by the Board of Directors, for the fulfillment of the Company’s objects.
- To undertake such programmes, projects, or activities, either independently or in collaboration with governmental, semi-governmental, or private organizations, as may be conducive to the attainment of the objects of the Company.
- To organize and conduct various programmes for students of secondary, higher secondary, graduate, and postgraduate levels, aimed at enhancing communication and information skills, soft skills, mastery over English and other languages, confidence building, career guidance, counseling, aptitude development, and natural talents.
- To function as an apex body for the collection, collation, dissemination, and transmission of research and information for the social, educational, and economic development of the Target Groups.
- To initiate, undertake, and promote from time to time special and pioneering projects such as Kisan Mitra (Farmer’s Friend), Skill Development Ambassadors, Tara Doot (Women Empowerment Ambassadors), Sant Gadge Baba Doot (Sanitation and De-addiction Ambassadors), Samvidhan Doot (Constitution Ambassadors), Savitri Doot, and such other awareness and outreach initiatives.
- To design, sponsor, organize, and implement, either independently or in collaboration with other institutions, or on a sponsored basis, residential and non-residential special training programmes aimed at enabling the Target Groups to avail themselves of employment opportunities in the Defence Services, Judicial Services, and other public and private sectors within India and abroad.
- To undertake action-oriented, experimental, and policy research for the social, educational, and economic development of the Target Groups, and to formulate, develop, and recommend suitable concepts, ideas, and alternative policies at the local, State, and national levels.
- To conduct research, consultancy, evaluation, and impact studies in relation to the social, educational, and economic development of the Target Groups.
- To develop, design, and conduct training programmes and consultancy services for human resource development, institutional capacity building, leadership development, and empowerment of the Target Groups.
- To establish, maintain, and operate regional, district, or divisional offices, sub-centres, training centres, or research units for effective implementation of the Company’s objectives.
- To establish, run, or affiliate with libraries, databanks, documentation centres, and information centres for the collection and dissemination of knowledge.
- To publish, print, edit, or circulate journals, periodicals, research papers, reports, newsletters, and other literature in furtherance of the Company’s objectives.
- To provide technical, managerial, legal, and other necessary guidance to the Target Groups for their socio-economic and educational development.
- To establish, maintain, and operate counselling centres for students, entrepreneurs, farmers, women, and youth.
- To institute, administer, and award scholarships, fellowships, stipends, remunerations, grants, prizes, and financial assistance for education, training, research, and allied activities.
- To collaborate, affiliate, and cooperate with universities, research institutions, professional bodies, academies, governmental and non-governmental organizations, both in India and abroad, for research, training, and development purposes.
- To undertake the preparation and publication of dictionaries, encyclopaedias, glossaries, monographs, and other educational resources for the use of students, teachers, and researchers.
- To design, develop, and conduct refresher courses, orientation courses, capacity building programmes, and workshops for teachers, trainers, and facilitators working for the Target Groups.
- To establish, develop, and manage coaching centres, study circles, hostels, or residential facilities for students preparing for competitive examinations or pursuing higher education.
- To conduct, promote, and encourage scientific research, development of technology, and innovation beneficial to the social, educational, and economic development of the Target Groups.
- To promote awareness of constitutional rights and duties, national integration, communal harmony, scientific temper, and values of peace, equality, social justice, and fraternity.
- To undertake programmes and activities for eradication of casteism, untouchability, gender inequality, racial discrimination, superstitions, dowry, child marriage, and other social evils.
- To promote inter-caste marriages, simple marriages, community marriages, de-addiction drives, and campaigns for women’s empowerment.
- To oppose caste panchayats, social boycotts, domestic violence, and to initiate research, advocacy, and programmes to eradicate such practices.
- To implement health, sanitation, hygiene, and awareness programmes for the Target Groups.
- To establish, maintain, and operate sports and recreation centres, gymnasiums, yoga centres, and cultural centres for physical, mental, and cultural development.
- To acquire, purchase, lease, rent, or otherwise obtain land, buildings, or property for carrying out the Company’s objectives, and to construct, maintain, or alter such infrastructure as may be required.
- To sell, exchange, lease, mortgage, dispose of, or otherwise deal with the property, assets, or rights of the Company in furtherance of its objectives.
- To borrow or raise money from banks, financial institutions, or other lawful sources, either secured or unsecured, and to execute necessary documents for the same, provided that such borrowing shall not be inconsistent with the objects of the Company.
- To invest funds of the Company in securities, bonds, fixed deposits, mutual funds, or other modes of investment, subject to applicable laws and as may be approved by the Board of Directors.
- To accept any gifts, contributions, endowments, donations, or subscriptions, in cash or in kind, movable or immovable property, for furthering the objects of the Company.
- To open and operate bank accounts in the name of the Company, and to draw, accept, endorse, discount, or negotiate cheques, drafts, promissory notes, and other instruments.
- To enter into contracts, agreements, arrangements, or collaborations with individuals, firms, companies, institutions, or governments for the purpose of carrying out the objects of the Company.
- To acquire by purchase, gift, lease, exchange, or otherwise, and to hold any movable or immovable property required for the objects of the Company.
- To sell, manage, transfer, exchange, lease, or otherwise dispose of any property or asset belonging to the Company, as may be deemed expedient for achieving its objects.
- To appoint or employ staff, consultants, experts, advisors, officers, clerks, workers, and other personnel required for the efficient functioning of the Company, and to fix their terms of service.
- To establish provident funds, pension funds, gratuity funds, insurance schemes, and other welfare measures for employees and staff of the Company.
- To enter into agreements with Government departments, local authorities, public or private bodies, universities, and institutions for the promotion of the objects of the Company.
- To accept, undertake, and execute any trusts or agencies for charitable or educational purposes aligned with the objects of the Company.
- To affiliate with, cooperate with, or become a member of other associations, societies, institutions, or bodies, whether in India or abroad, having similar objects.
- To take membership, affiliation, or accreditation with national and international organizations for the purpose of furthering the objects of the Company.
- To organize, conduct, and participate in conferences, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, study tours, cultural festivals, training camps, and symposia.
- To establish and operate student hostels, residential complexes, and transit homes for the benefit of students and trainees.
- To provide scholarships, fellowships, awards, and financial aid to meritorious students, researchers, and trainees belonging to the Target Groups.
- To establish educational institutions, colleges, training centres, polytechnics, and academies for imparting formal and informal education.
- To promote vocational training, professional development, skill training, and technical education.
- To establish, run, and maintain agricultural training centres, research farms, and demonstration units for the benefit of farmers of the Target Groups.
- To promote entrepreneurship, self-employment ventures, cooperatives, and start-ups among the Target Groups by providing guidance, training, incubation support, and necessary resources.
- To establish business incubation centres, innovation hubs, and technology parks for fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.
- To promote cooperative movements, self-help groups, and community-based organizations for socio-economic development.
- To provide consultancy and advisory services in the areas of agriculture, industry, trade, commerce, and service sectors for the benefit of the Target Groups.
- To establish and operate agricultural cooperatives, marketing federations, producer companies, and other collective institutions for farmers and entrepreneurs.
- To organize exhibitions, trade fairs, and marketing events for the promotion of products and services of entrepreneurs and self-help groups.
- To establish training, guidance, and support centres for youth empowerment and employment generation.
- To establish, manage, and operate vocational training centres, polytechnics, industrial training institutes, and other skill development institutions.
- To provide training and support for modern agricultural practices, agri-business, food processing, and allied sectors.
- To undertake projects and programmes for rural development, urban development, slum improvement, and integrated area development for the benefit of the Target Groups.
- To collaborate with financial institutions, banks, and government agencies for providing credit, loans, subsidies, and financial assistance to the Target Groups.
- To establish and maintain career guidance and employment information centres for students and youth.
- To develop and operate e-learning platforms, digital libraries, online training modules, and ICT-based education systems.
- To develop and disseminate audio-visual educational content, films, documentaries, and digital resources for awareness and training.
- To utilize social media, print, electronic, and digital platforms for disseminating information, awareness, and educational programmes.
- To establish research chairs, fellowships, and endowments in universities and institutions for promoting research on issues concerning the Target Groups.
- To collaborate with international agencies, institutions, and organizations for exchange programmes, training, and research partnerships.
- To establish linkages with diaspora and non-resident communities for mobilizing resources, expertise, and support for the development of the Target Groups.
- To establish helplines, counselling services, and support centres for students, women, farmers, and entrepreneurs.
- To organize health camps, blood donation camps, medical check-up camps, and awareness drives on preventive healthcare.
- To provide support for sports, art, culture, literature, music, drama, and related activities among the Target Groups.
- To preserve, promote, and propagate cultural heritage, traditions, and folk arts of the Target Groups.
- To establish museums, archives, cultural centres, and heritage centres for documentation and promotion of history, culture, and achievements of the Target Groups.
- To undertake environmental awareness programmes, afforestation drives, water conservation, renewable energy promotion, and sustainable development initiatives.
- To collaborate with governmental and non-governmental organizations for disaster management, relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction activities.
- To provide legal aid, support services, and awareness programmes for protecting the rights and interests of the Target Groups.
- To undertake advocacy, policy dialogues, and representations before governmental authorities on matters concerning the Target Groups.
- To establish women’s development centres, hostels, and support facilities for promoting women’s empowerment and safety.
- To undertake projects and initiatives for child development, early childhood care, and support to orphaned, destitute, and underprivileged children.
- To establish old age homes, senior citizen centres, and welfare programmes for elderly persons belonging to the Target Groups.
- To carry out all lawful acts, deeds, and things as may be incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects, either directly or indirectly.
- To do all such other lawful activities as are incidental or ancillary to the attainment of the main objects of the Company, provided that the Company shall not undertake any activity for profit, and all income and property of the Company shall be applied solely for the promotion of its objects.
